ContentSafer respects intellectual property rights and expects the same of everyone who uses our website. This policy covers two things: how we handle notices about material on contentsafer.com, and the standards we follow when we file notices on behalf of our clients.

If you believe material on contentsafer.com infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). Your notice must include:

- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.

Counter-notices
If material you posted was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the agent above containing: your signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and telephone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which ContentSafer may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
Repeat infringers
We will, in appropriate circumstances, terminate access for users who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.
How we file notices for clients
When we act as an authorised agent for rights holders, we commit to the following standards:
- Every notice is reviewed by a person before it is filed, and is based on rights our client has documented to us.
- We consider fair use, fair dealing and other exceptions, and we leave commentary, criticism, news reporting and parody alone.
- We identify ourselves and the rights holder in every notice, so the recipient knows who to contact.
- We withdraw notices promptly if we learn they were filed in error.
Disputing a notice we sent
If you received a notice from ContentSafer and believe it was sent in error, use the platform’s counter-notice process or write to legal@contentsafer.com with the case reference and the reasons. We review every dispute.
Misrepresentation
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes material misrepresentations in a notice or counter-notice may be liable for damages. If you are unsure whether material infringes your rights, consider consulting a lawyer first.
